Need some help with reception, Gatineau/Ottawa
Hello everyone,
Before I ask for help I want to say this website is great, cutting the cord has been made each easier with all the help I found on this website. I purchased an antenna from Save and Replay (http://overtheair.saveandreplay.com/...earstream2.asp) however I have had difficulty obtaining both OTA towers in my area. I can point to each tower and it’s great but if I put my c2 pointed at the middle (232 degrees magnetic) and I found that the tower at 284 degrees magnetic didn’t always come in nice and it would often cut when we were watching. This is my report : http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...d24383a151a4be So I’m wondering what I should do: 1) Buy a better antenna that can catch both towers? 2) Add another antenna and combine them? Based on my report what would the recommendation? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Roch Lambert |
The spread between your two towers is too great for most antennas to receive both reliably.
Get a second new style C2 with the clip on VHF module (C2V), a two-port splitter, and two short (3') cables. Mount the C2 antennas at a right angle to each other with one pointed west, the other south. Combine them with the two cables and the splitter (reversed), then feed that into the VHF module which should be clipped to the reflector of the west-facing C2. Should work. |
