Will an attic mounted antenna suffice??
New to the forum and looking to cut the cord, I will be keeping my cable for internet service for access to netflix and hulu +. I am leaning towards a winegard HD 7084P and I am hoping I can get away with an attic mount (I have the room). I live in a single story house, so an outside mount will only gain about 6 of elevation. I am looking to get the Philly stations, antenna pointed to 52 degrees true N.
Here is my TVFool report: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...46ae320bf8ad97 I realize that an outside mount is preferred, but does it make that big of a difference in my case? Thanks in advance |
The 7084 is a very good choice for your application. The danger with trying the installation in the attic is that the 7084 is difficult to re-fold if you need to remove it from the attic.
If we were next door to one another, you'd see an antenna above my roof. The modest or even weak signal levels shown on your report don't bode well for an attic install unless the attic is unusually favorable to reception. If you choose to try the attic, consider using an Antennacraft HD-1850 or Channel Master CM-3020, both are a bit easier to re-fold if you are forced to reconsider the attic location. |
