need help getting wpvi in
 

Please forgive me but I am not technically savvy with this so I will try my best to explain what is going on hoping someone can give me some insight. My father-in-law used to be able to receive WPVI shortly after the digital conversion but then after a few months it no longer came in. From the initial research I have done this is a common complaint in our area. Supposedly WPVI comes across under a low VHF signal? Not sure if that is right or what that could mean. He uses a Zenith DTV converter model # DTT900 on his TV to gain the digital channels. He just purchased an Antennas direct clearstream 2 which he has set up on the roof. He has positioned this antenna in a verity of ways and has rescanned every time. I am thinking he will need to adjust the antenna to a certain compass pointing to get this station but is this the right antenna or is there something relatively inexpensive he could use to help pick up the signal.

The Clear Stream 2 is a high quality antenna. However, it is only designed to receive UHF channels, (14 and up).

This is easy to fix though. Add an antenna designed to receive the VHF channels (2 - 13). The Antennacraft CS600 would be a good choice.

The signals from each antenna would be combined using an inexpensive UVSJ

Both antennas can mount on the same mast if there is room (there should be about 6 feet between the two antennas, more is better). You can also mount on separate masts if you like. Aiming is not going to be extremely critical, both antennas are going to allow some 'fudge factor'. Ideally, both antennas would be aimed east. How to aim an antenna

Not all Tv channels are being transmitted and received via~ UHF. . Tv channels are also transmitted and received via~ VHF 7 thru 13 and via~ VHF 2 thru 6 . . It is not a good idea to by a Tv antenna based on the way it looks or what Joe , Bob and Mary says they like or don't like about Tv antennas. The people at 'radio shack' and 'best buy' do not have a clue as to what Tv antenna is correct to use. It is not a good idea to buy a Tv antenna based on price , be it high dollar or low dollar. . . . . . It is a good idea to come to tvfool and find out the correct Tv antenna. . . . .
