Hi everyone
first off just like to say for some one like me who has had Dish since 1993 I have had enough...lol.... and found this forum and a wealth of info.
Just bought a mobile home in a over 55 community and my brother in law has reintroduced me to ota tv ! I could not believe the clarity of the signal. He is using a "HD View 360 mini-state antenna" and is getting quite a few channels. The problem is locally this antenna is over $200... which I am willing to pay "if" it is this the best set up for this area. I can go as high as 20 feet and the roof is metal... of course I can't have a 13 foot antenna..lol Here is my tv analysis.... http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...46aefd7609c308 any and all help is greatly appreciated. Please check your TV Fool report link. I believe I have corrected some errors that made it fail, but please be sure it is for your location, Thanks.
If the report is correct, I would suggest using an RCA ANT-751 or a premium solution, the Winegard HD7694P. Both are available through many retailers, Amazon is currently asking $48 & $60 for those antennas. In either case, mount outdoors, clear of obstructions. Point the antenna at about 30° to 35° per a compass. If you are connecting only one or two TVs, no amplifier should be needed. |
thanks for fixing the link.... yes it is the correct location...
I will check out your recommendation on the antennas. Have you heard of the HD view antenna ? Also I forgot to mention that I am hoping to receive "metv" channel . thanks so much for the fast reply. Casey |

According to rabbitears.info, WESH, real CH-11 carries MeTV network on their second sub-channel. You'll see it show up as virtual channel 2-2. Given that this is a priority, I'd favor the HD7694P for it's added gain. The signal from real Ch-11 is the lowest of the main group coming from the NE. The added gain will offer some insurance against unreliable reception.
The HD View 360 mini-state antenna is an Antennacraft product and would be a good option for an RV'r on the go... It offers less true antenna gain than the two options I've suggested. |
Thanks, the Winegard HD7694P it is..... will order this week and install next weekend... will report back my results...
thanks, casey |
