You need to make a few decisions. Do you want simplicity and low cost with GR only or flexibility with higher cost and other markets?

The last time I was in Kalamazoo/Lansing almost every home with an antenna had a tower and a rotor. Yet, that causes operational problems with DVR's and multiple TV sets.

If I lived there I'd have two antennas, one for a full compliment of local GR stations, and a second rotary antenna in the event that the NFL games are regionalized on the nearby affiliates.

Are you a Bear or Lions fan? On December 26 GR had Jets Vs Bears, Lansing had Indy/Oakland

On weeks 2, 8, 10, 13, & 16 GR had an early game, Lansing had a late game. You'd get a CBS double header on a single game weekend!

I recommend a Winegard HD7084P antenna pointed at about 230 magnetic compass. With a Winegard AP8700 preamp mounted below the antenna. Here are some Strong and Sturdy antenna mounts , tripod mount , chimney mount , peak of the roof eave mount. Here are places to buy Tv antennas and etc. . http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.3starinc.com , http://www.starkelectronic.com , http://www.amazon.com . . Read and understand this about , Real Digital Tv Channels , Virtual Digital Tv Channels , Analog Tv Channels , http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=695 . Here is how to point a Tv antenna , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

I am looking for simplest method. I would like a system that will give me good reception for either tv at a reasonable price. I need to know what exactlly is required to start.

A 13 db NM on low band is marginal. I'd watch WGVU on channel 11 instead of WGVK on channel 5. That makes the antenna smaller.

HD 7694P aimed at 240° true. Don't buy a preamp unless you find that you need it. Buy it from Solid Signal in Novi, MI
