Outdoor OTA antenna suggestions
I'm about 35~40 miles due west of downtown Atlanta. The good thing is my house is situated in the highest part of our subdivision. The bad part is I would have to aim a antenna towards the house across the intersection from me and there's a big stand of trees behind their house. I determined this by using a compass standing on my front porch aiming at 86 degrees.
I don't think a indoor or attic antenna would do a very good job so I'm looking for suggestions for a outdoor antenna. The smaller, less obtrusive, the better, because I really haven't noticed any other houses around me with antennas, and I don't want it to stick out. I could mount it maybe 25 feet high, mounted on the back of my house (split-level), at it's highest point. Thanks for any suggestions. To take full advantage of the available signals I would opt for a full size antenna such as the Winegard HD7698P paired with an RCA TVPRAMP1R preamplifier.
You could try a Channel Master CM-4228HD which is much more compact. However, it's High-VHF capability is much more limited. If it failed to provide reliable reception of the signals on real channels 7 through 13, you would be faced with adding an Antennas Direct CS5 or Antennacraft Y10713. |
If you hide your antenna so other people can't see it, then it's possible that OTA signals may not see it, either.
The 7698P is a beautiful antenna. It's a badge. Wear it w/ pride. |
