Lost two channels
I am here: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1dda114e25b0cf
Sometime in November, CHCJ RF35 (virt 35) started broadcasting from a tower 2 miles or so from my house. At Christmas, channels RF38 (virt 7.1) and RF33 (virt 2.1) disappeared completely. My professional antenna installer says that there is no explanation for that happening and nobody else in the neighbourhood (I am not sure what "the neighbourhood" entails, as he sees it) is having this issue. The two things that make me suspect the new broadcast tower isn't to blame are: 1. RF36 (virt 36.1) is still coming in perfectly fine, although it is much closer than the other two. 2. The two other stations did not drop immediately upon the new station starting, but about 5 or 6 weeks later. Any ideas? Brian |

Water in places it should not be tops my list things to look for. Often, it's easier to simply swap out a section of coax with a new or proven good piece... As you take things apart, be on the lookout for either moisture or corrosion in connectors. Water in coax causes unpredictable and variable effects. It's very common to see only one or a few channels affected and then intermittently.

Call the Tv stations , Communicate with the engineering department.
Some of the questions to ask are , is the Tv station on the air?? And what is the REAL channel of the transmission and reception?? Digital Broadcast Tv Tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with simple channel scans. Do Double Channel Rescan , http://www.dtv.gov/rescan.html. |
