OTA in Toccoa, Georgia 30577
 

There was not alot of info about my area. We have not had cable for over 1 year, but we miss sports. So I decided to install an Winegard HD8200U with Channel Master rotator. We live in a valley. Our closest major stations are Ashville, NC and Greenville, SC

Here is what we receive clearly:
4.1 WYFF-NBC
4.2 THISTV
7.1 WSPA-CBS
7.2 METV
21.1 WHNS-FOX
21.2 WHNS-WEATHER
29.1 WNTV-PBS/ETV
29.2 WNTV-PBS/SCC
29.3 WNTV-PBS/ETVW
32.1 WUGA-INDEPENDENT/ GA public tv

We receive these stations around 50% of the time:
13.1 WLOS/DT- ABC
13.2 MY40
13.3 WLOS/SD-ABC

Go to the , http://www.winegarddirect.com , web site , click on the HD8200U antenna , look and read the directions for connecting the Phasing Lines correctly.

Make sure the Phasing lines are Not Touching any part of the metal frame of the antenna and make sure the Phasing lines are connected correctly , so the signal can move through the phasing lines to the coax and on to the Tv.

Aim the HD8200U antenna at about 65 degree magnetic compass direction.

As a Test to prove reception , connect a New loooong coax to the HD8200U antenna and run the New loooong coax through a open door or window , Direct to 1 Tv.

No ground blocks , No couplers , No splitters , No nothing.

Just the HD8200U antenna , 1 New loooong coax , connected to 1 Tv.


Digital Broadcast Tv tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with a simple channel scan.

Do Double Rescans.

The Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels listed in the Digital Pending Applications Included channel list of the tvfool report should be received , down the list down to and including at least WYCW-DT REAL UHF Digital channel 45 , virtual number (62.1-2) The CW and CBS.

Without rotating the antenna.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , reducing , blocking , Digital Broadcast Tv reception and so do bulidings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best install the HD8200U antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

Any channels missing and if so , what channels??

Now install a Winegard HDP-269 preamp to the Test setup.

And scan again.
