Help

Is there any use for an old Direct TV satellite dish? Any chance of converting that dish to OTA antenna? any use for picking up or setting up and OTA antenna other than being a garbage?

Thank You!

A few intrepid souls have converted satellite dishes to WiFi antennas with varying degrees of success. An internet search on that subject produces lots of ideas, some actually pretty good. The dish is far too small in diameter to make a useful reflector in the UHF TV band. Recycle it... or trash it.

Years ago, there were several consumer market UHF parabolic dish antennas ranging from 5' to 7' in diameter. Today's panel style and Yagi style antennas perform as well or better, with far less cross section to be blown about in the wind.
