Need advice on OTA signals and antenna suggestions
I am interested in receiving the locals (TV) out of the Charlotte NC market. The channels I want in this market are up to 70 miles away. First, is it realistic to expect a consistent HD signal from this distance? This site suggests that I can obtain all of the locals out of Charlotte with a proper roof mounted antenna; however, I've never tried it so I am not certain. The results of my tvfool.com are listed in the link below:

To find antenna installers , in the Google search box type in , structured wiring winston-salem nc . or you can try zipinstallation.com . You can receive the channels in green with a simple indoor antenna , http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=233 , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html , Read and understand this about Real and Virtual Digital Broadcast Tv Channels. One needs to know the Real channels so one can know the correct antenna to use. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=695 , For the Charlotte stations 215 magnetic compass , I recommend a Antennasdirect 91XG UHF antenna with a Winegard AP4700 preamp. It is good to know the directions of , North , South , East and West. It is good to read a compass.

I appreciate your reply. Do you have any suggestions on mounting the antenna? My home is vinyl sided with no brick or chimney. I'd like to mount it as high as possible. Would a large antenna, such as the one you mentioned, have enough strength to be mounted with brackets tied to my roof soffit? I know this procedure is done with satelite dishes but not sure if it would provide enough strength for a large antenna.
