Mystified in Denver (New Antenna)

Im in Littleton colorado and trying to cut the cord. So I decided that if I can get at least the major networks OTA I'd cut the cord. I still cant get NBC

New antenna (winegard FV-HD30 FreeVision UHF VHF Antenna
) 13 miles from transmitter on lookout mountain 296 degrees nw, mounted on 5 foot mast on roof Should be No Sweat right? Not to be the case for me anyway.

my lng/lat is 39.627016,-105.037119

I still cant get NBC kusa channel 9 high vhf I can get channel 7 KMGH transmitted from the same tower. So i am just mystified and dont know what to try next.

Anybody have any ideas?

Tv Reception.

Strong signals and signal reflections , multi path.

Try a variable attenuator , # 1296F , to ' dial down ' the signal strength.

http://www.solidsignal.com.

Also can try a Winegard HD7210P directional antenna aimed at about 280 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

As always the starting antenna aim direction is --> the starting antenna aim direction.

The antenna can be turned to the left and right to find a direction that provides better reception.

Can also call the Tv station KUSA , chat with the engineering department and they can help.

Yes KUSA and KMGH both know about reception problems with VHF channels 9 and 7.

Thx for the input

What I found (didnt realize before) this morning was I had the antenna cable going through an input splitter for antenna, hdmi transmitter, dvr, dvd,,wireless video controller switch. When I bypassed this with the antenna cable and went direct, the auto program on my samsung went from 27 channels to 41 :) Great result including channel 9 I was about to add an old hd tuner that had a signal strength meter in it when I noticed, Since everything else uses a different input on the hdtv than coax There is no need for the ant coax to go through the switch Thx have a great sunday !!!
