Antenna help..... Please
 

I am looking for some ideas and opinions on the better antenna's for my area

I get decent reception from my Phillips amplified indoor antenna (SDV6122/27)
but I there r channels that have terrible reception... and of coarse the wife wants one of them.. So now I would like to get as many channels as I can.

Your report shows edge paths... you are over the hill from the stations. That means you will want to use an outdoor antenna, avoid the obstructions of your walls and roof.

Minimum antenna, an Antennacraft HBU33 or HBU44. A larger Winegard HD7697 or even HD7698 is not unreasonable.

The lager antennas and a rotor will give you the best line up, but the HBU33 aimed SE will offer a good channel selection.

Would I gain anything by getting the HBU44 and pointing it SE instead of the HBU33?

With length of the cable when is it best to install a booster?

What is the channel that the wife wants and how many tv's to connect ?

right now i get 8.1,10.1,13.1,31.1,51.1 (virt)from the indoor Ant. She's after 40.1 (virt). If I do an outside antenna I'd probably hook it up to a 2nd TV set.
To be honest I'd like to get as many in that direction as possible

I do not see a digital station using 40.1 Virtual on your report, so I assume you are referring to WBGT-CA 40 real, an analog low power station affiliated with the 'MyNetworkTV' network.

If you are connecting more than one set, you will likely find a rotator a source of conflict when trying to view stations from different directions. I would use the larger Winegard HD7698 aimed to the SE and a two-way splitter (no amplifier). Use the analog signal from WBGT-CA to fine tune your aim, adjust for least snow and ghosting, the stronger digital stations should be well above the minimum level needed.

I do not see a 40.1

Oops, I was wrong when I said 40.1 (virt.) on the tv its channel 40, GroundUrMast was right.
I basically need what I have plus channel 40.. anything else is just a bonus really..
i like bonuses though
