Need help on watching WVIT-DT NBC Connecticut
 

Dear All,

I am in Guilford, CT. Here is my signal report.

Equipments are: bowtie antenna (DB8) in attic facing North, CM3414 signal amplifier, and CM7001 tuner.

Situations are: Got good signals from WEDH-DT (PBS) and WFSB (CBS) but NO signal from WVIT-DT(NBC):confused:, which is in the same dirction and distance of former two and report shows its signal strangth is in the same range of those two.

Because NBC has Olympic coverage, can anybody help me to solve this urgent problem? Thanks a lot in advance!

If you could mount the antenna on the roof you'd get a good signal. Is that possible?

Yes, possible. But why among three stations (PBS, CBS, and NBC) have almost same signal strength and from same direction and distance, only NBC dropped? Thanks!

Relocate the antenna and try again. It's probably in a dead spot for that specific station.

That or multipath. I used to live in Simsbury and West Hartford and Ch. 30 was always ghosting when we had analog signals. Ch. 61 was always clear.

8 bay antennas can be very difficult to aim. If you have not yet tried moving left and right, do so around five degrees at a time, up to as many as 5 moves in both dirrections, one at a time.

Good info. Thanks! Actually I tried roughly to aim in W and N two directions and the latter gave me most channels. Looks I have to move it in smaller steps tonight. A long night...:(

Tv Reception.
 

The DB8 is a Very Directional antenna in the forward direction , receives nothing on the sides and very little at the back of the antenna due to the reflector screens reducing reception to the >< shaped reception elements.

Your location has receivable Tv stations/channels , north , north west , west , south west , south and east.

A much better antenna for your location is the ANT751 mounted above the roof , aimed at about 0 degree magnetic compass (north).

The ANT751 does have some forward direction gain and is also not a very directional antenna so will receive the Tv stations/channels of the other directions.
