Best antenna for my area?
Hello,
I'm pretty new to all of this, I'm wondering if I could get any advice on which antenna would be best for my area. My TV fool report is here. Here are some details: -I'm looking to mount the antenna on the roof -I live in a well treed rural area -I'm looking to get the most channels possible Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to ask any further questions, I will answer them to the best of my abilities. |
Install a Winegard HD7698P antenna aimed at about 83 degree magnetic compsass direction.
Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna. ____________ No antenna amplifier is required for 1 Tv connected. For 1 Tv connected use No splitter. ____________ For 2 or 3 Tv's connected with a 2 or 3 way splitter , use a Winegard LNA-100 'Boost' amplifier. ____________ Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. . http://www.saveandreplay.com. http://www.trentondistributors.com. ______________ Install the HD7698P antenna , Up High above ground , so reception has the least amount of obstructions in directions of reception. South East , East and North East. ______________ ___________________ For 2 Tv's connected use a 2 way splitter. |
Thanks!
Wow, thank you for the great reply. I appreciate the work. I have some more information, and a couple more questions:
I just hooked up some set top rabbit ears, and I can pick up some of the greens (4, 6, 9, 13 and 24). If I was to purchase and install the suggested items, how many more channels could I reasonably expect? Is there any way to pick up the grey channels, specifically WNYF? I understand it really isn't 100% possible to tell until everything is set up, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect. |
