Help With Reception - Eastern Kentucky
We just purchased a Antenna Direct Clearstream 4V Antenna. Right now we can get WYMT, This TV, WLJC, ION, Qubo, ION Life, Shop, QVC, Home Shopping Network. Can someone tell me if it is possible for us to get WKYT, WLEX, WDKY, and WTVQ. Our zip code is a Campton, but we actually live right off Mt Parkway Exit 53, 10 miles from Campton.Below is our signal analysis. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Welcome, Hall_78:
We will need a more accurate tvfool report for a good analysis. Please go here to the interactive map browser and move the cursor to the antenna location. http://www.tvfool.com/index.php?opti...pper&Itemid=90 Quote:

I see Bert T Combs Mountain Pkwy, 402/9000, but I can't find exit 53. What street is that?

Thank you, I see it now.
The first 3 channels look possible, but you lost CBS and everything below it. The terrain is really bad. Try some more reports at 25 ft and 50 ft. |
Antenna Helper Coordinates shows this.

Thank you for the coordinates.
Do not use the zip code for new heights, it isn't accurate because of the rough terrain; use the coordinates. If you want to protect your identity, delete the coordinates in post 7. |
Done thank you.

25 ft w/coordinates

At 25 ft you got CBS back

Our 25ft reports don't match because you used 37.72*** instead of 37.74***
|
|
They still don't match; did you use all the digits after the decimal point as in post 7?
I'm not trying to be fussy, it's that a small change in location makes a big difference in the signals. |
Sorry, I didn't use them but this time I did. I don'the think you are fussy at all. We appreciate you helping us withave of this.

Our reports are closer now. The distances and azimuths match, but the NM numbers are different.
Looking at the Google map and tilting it, you seem to be in a valley surrounded by hills. I might send you a PM to confirm your location, but as of now you will probably need to try a high gain VHF/UHF antenna like the Winegard HD7698P in different directions as high as you can get it, and a Channel Master 7777 preamp. An alternative would be an MCM VHF yagi like the 30-2475 or 30-2476 aimed at a VHF channel like 7 or 12 and an Antennas Direct DB8e with both panels aimed at 21 or 15 to avoid using a rotator. The antennas would be combined with a UVSJ UHF/VHF combiner before the preamp. It doesn't look very promising; you might have to do cable or satellite TV. Quote:
