KFVS Cape Girardeau Missouri

Above location is at Mom’s home.

I was curious to see what reliable signals would available to her.

KFVS from Cape Girardeau, MO is not listed?

KFVS / CBS analog signal was available many years ago at this location.

The database has been missing major stations in many
markets since late summer. That explains the missing
station, KFVS. I recall someone who lived near Paducah,
KY on the site who needed help. Paducah has the NBC,
there is an ABC station in Southern Illinois and CBS and
Fox telecast from The Cape area. There were some low
power stations in each of those areas. A small outdoor
antenna would likely receive the local Cape Girardeau
stations. NBC and ABC would probably require and second
antenna aimed at those stations.

My mistake, I misread your narrative. Kpob, Kait, and
Ktej are about the only decent signals to reach the area.

Northern Arkansas is pretty much out of range of KFVS's digital signal. It's on a 2,000' tower but is only allowed to broadcast at 6800 watts at that height giving it a coverage radius of around 65 miles max. Your mom is about 80-85 miles away.

A decent visualization of their coverage map is at https://www.rabbitears.info/contour....=1318593&map=Y

KFVS is not listed on the TVFool report because of a defective database, but it shows up on the RabbitEars.info report, and is very weak as ADTech says.

CBS is a subchannel on KJNB

and on KJNE:

The main problem is the curvature of the earth:

Thanks everyone for your knowledgeable replies!!!
Growing up at the address when KFVS was an analog signal reception was good. After the switch to digital was KFVS required to decrease their signal strength?

The digital signal requires less power than the analog signal for the same coverage area; it is more efficient. The goal was to maintain the same coverage area when switching from analog to digital, for the ads.

When a digital signal gets weaker, it drops out suddenly at a certain point. When an analog signal gets weaker, it gets more snowy, so we can watch it a little longer.
