Ctv 11.1

I live in Newcastle Ont. east of Oshawa, my set up is a Channel Master 4221 on a mast on side of my second level house. With good weather I can scan 28 channels, but have a hard time with CTV 11.1. I know that this is a VHF signal, I also use a RCA line amp. When I do get signal it is good at 85%.I have looked at map and I am in the green zone where I live.

Please post a link to your TV Fool reception report. Thanks

The only virtual channel 11.1 in your area is CHCH, a UHF station (ch 15) from Hamilton, almost 80 miles away.

There are no VHF-11 signals in range of your area.

Please make and post a tvfool report.

Go to the tvfool home page and click on >>Start MAPS<< .

Enter the Exact address.

Make the antenna height in the report , 25 feet above ground.

25 feet above ground is a Reference antenna height that provides a good initial evaluation of what can be received.

Post the tvfool report so your reception situation can be correctly evaluated.

Sorry, I should have said CTV 9.1. I have raised the antenna to 22 feet and I am getting 2 green bars at 91% with good weather. Does CTV power down their transmission signal during the day?
Thank you
Nick

No. The only time that stations reduce their power is when they must. Usually that would be due to either a failure in their system or if maintenance crews have to to be on or near the tower and power has to be reduced for their safety.

channel loss when it rains

When it rains I lose 10 channels, from 32 to 22. I have a channel master 4221 up to 22 feet and a 16db indoor amp. When I have good weather most signals are 3 and 4 bars which gives me a good picture.I live in Newcastle Ontario Canada.
