Want to drop cable

I'm looking to save money by getting rid of cable. Wanted to get some advice on purchasing an antenna. I'm wanting to mount one in the attic or roof, run the coax about 30ft to a 3-way splitter where the cable currently goes and send out through the house.

I'm would like to receive CBS, FOX, ABC, NBC, CW,
Ind,Cw, and PBS.

Here is my report:

I was thinking about a CM 4228HD antenna.

Thanks

Reception

A simple indoor antenna will get all the channels you can watch and then somehttp://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=233

Yeah, I would try something like the Terk HDTVi (not amplified) first. You've got stations to the southeast and southwest that a more directive antenna like the 4228 cannot pick up all at once without a rotator. If the Terk doesn't get all that you want, the 4228 is still not what you want for two reasons: 1) you don't need that much gain, and 2) your strongest PBS station is on VHF (11) which the 4228 won't get.

There are three choices I can think of that should perform well: the RCA ANT 751, AntennaCraft HBU-22 or -33, or the Winegard HD7694P (arranged by increasing gain). Armed with a rotator, you will get all the stations with double-digit NMs.

Good luck!
