Reception Advice

My dad has switched back to OTA tv. He lives close to me, so a similar channel setup. However, he currently has a ANT-7287 antenna, pointed roughly at 50-70* and about 20 feet in the air, with 75 feet of good coax to his TV. Any suggestions if he should go with a pre-amp to get in more channels? Currently he doesn't get a few of the channels that are in the yellow area for example. Thanks! |
Get the antenna Up in the air so reception is not impeded and blocked by the roof and building in the directions of , North East , East , North West , West.
Try aiming 1 panel at about 52 degree magnetic compass direction. And the other panel at about 267 degree magnetic compass direction. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. _________________ Digital Tv Tuners can develop -Digital Glitches- that are not cleared out with simple channel scans. Do Double Rescan. http://www.wchstv.com/DoubleReScanAlert.pdf. ____________________ How is the reception now?? ____________________ It is a good idea to rescan from time to time because New Tv stations/channels can begin transmitting at any time with No advance notice. |
Thank you Teleview.
We have it on a clear line of sight. Gets 10.1, 14.1, 20.1, 59.1 and 69.1 clearly. 29.1 is intermittent. The channels from Detroit come in on clear nights only. Any suggestions if an amplifer/pre-amp would help? Thank you! |
