antennae for 11 miles from towers
Hi, Folks
here's what I'm looking at: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...b7c84c60583a03 have you recommendations? I'm hoping there's an indoor antennae that might work to save me from climbing on my roof and stringing a bunch of cable. thanks, Brando |

And when you find that that antenna doesn't work reliably (I guarantee that you will have issues with WHAS on channel 11), install an AntennaCraft HBU-22 on your roof aimed at 330 degrees; That WILL work!

to follow up: bought cheap RCA antennae and works great!

rep said I could return it if it didn't fit the bill, so I gave it a whirl. Works great. Picking up Channel 11 fine, too. You had me worried. First time I've used an antennae in twenty years, but since the signal is digital, this is far superior. Looks just like my cable picture. No ghosting. Now I just wished I'd ditched cable sooner. $720 a year saved. Yeah! |
Just an FYI. Listen to Tigerbangs he has several decades of experience in OTA reception. He regularly posts on other OTA forums and he knows his stuff.
I gather you already bought the indoor antenna and that its working for you. If you find though that it doesn't hold up in bad whether you may wish to consider an outdoor antenna. Here's my suggestion for anyone in a similar situation to you. NEVER buy an indoor antenna. Buy an outdoor antenna and put it inside. It will work much better and you always have the option to move it outside later. A 2bay or 4bay can be put in a window facing the towers and then covered with curtains or blinds and this will work MUCH better than any indoor antenna. Avoid indoor antennas. A 2 bay can be bought for only about $10-$15 more than what you spent on the indoor antenna. Happy free HDTV:) |
