new to OTA reception, NEED HELP
I am joining the cable cutting team and want to try out OTA channels. I am new to this and would like a recommendation as to what indoor antenna I should purchase. I live in an apartment complex so I cannot use a roof antenna. I am on the third floor if that makes any difference? Here is the link to my tvfool report:

Consider the Terk HDTVi (not the HDTVa).

Interesting, it looks rather large. I was looking for something a bit more discreet. What do you think about the mohu leaf?

The leaf and similar products are generally designed to cover only the UHF band (real CH-14 and higher). You would likely have trouble receiving signals in the VHF bands (real CH-2 through CH-13).
Sadly, some will claim that the little antennas has some VHF capability, which is true... the way it's true you can dig a hole with a spoon (but if you have a big hole to dig, a shovel or back-hoe may be a better choice). |

----- The Current Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels that are transmitted and received in the , USA , Canada , Mexico , are. VHF low band channels 2 thru 6. VHF high band channels 7 thru 13. UHF band channels 14 thru 51. Your reception location has receivable Tv stations/channels in all 3 Tv bands. ------------ Aim the TERK HDTVi antenna at about 160 degree degree magnetic compass direction. Here is how to aim indoor and outdoor antennas. http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna. The best location for Reliable Reception is , in/at a window or balcony door window that is to the , South ~ South East. If a long coax running through the apartment is required to connect the antenna in/at the window to the Tv , then so be it , the reason is Reliable Reception is More Important then objections of coax running through the apartment. If you have a balcony that faces , South West , South , South East. The Federal Antenna Law says you can install a BroadcastTv Antenna out on an balcony or patio. Here is the Federal Antenna Law. http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html. ---------------------- Hiding Tv antennas and being Discreet are good ways to have Less Reception. |
