Lost NBC South Tampa Bay
 
Hello,
Two weeks ago I lost NBC signal. Never had any problem with it before. It was an easy channel to get even with rabbit ears.
I just re-scanned, and my tv didn't pick it up.

I got 2 antennas, one for nbc, fox, abc and one for CBS. I combine both antennas with CM 0580.
A splitter 1 to 2.
And a 10db video signal amplifier RCA VH100N.

Here is the report

What could have gone wrong?

Try it without the amplifier.

If that doesn't help, replace the CM 0580 with a channel 10 Jointenna.

I suggest calling WFLA real channel 7 at 47 degree magnetic compass , look up the call sign at Google to get the phone number , ask for engineering department. Also it looks like WTSP real channel 10 is moving or has moved to 49 degree magnetic compass --> Current database / Pending applications included. I suggest try one indoor rods and loop (rabbit ears type tv antenna) aimed at about 25 degree magnetic compass.

So you think it's because of them messing up the signal.
I tried rabbit ears when I dump cable 2 years ago, but I couldn't get CBS (too far), so I bought this second antenna special for CBS.
So yes, if CBS is moving closer I will try again the rabbit ears.
I will call after the holidays.

Also you can try this omnidirectional antenna Winegard MS2002 , if you can mount a antenna outside. Please understand that omnidirectional directional antennas are not truly omnidirectional. The antenna will likley need to be turned to find a sweet spot for best reception of the stations to be received. Also understand that reflected signals from tall buildings can disrupt reception if the buildings are close by. The MS2002 can provide excellent reception of widely spaced Tv stations if there is not to much interference.

CBS has not moved yet. Until they do, a channel 10 Jointenna will eliminate multipath received by the CBS antenna from interfering with other stations. http://www.warrenelectronics.com/ant...Jointennas.htm

Something had to happen somewhere, I used to have 30 channels, I lost nbc 2 weeks ago and last week-end I did a rescan on my tv, I got only 10 channels. (two antenna on the roof 15ft). :confused:

I will go to walmart get one of this inside "HD" antenna, I know they work, I tried one before I used roof's antennas.

I got a flat antenna at walmart, I get 33 channels, but of course not channel 10 CBS that is 50 miles away, neither 13 FOX, this is a first. I can get NBC now with the inside antenna, still cannot with outside one. Weird

Sounds like the weather has taken it's toll on one or more parts of your system.

But everything looks fine, I went and checked all connections, nothing moved.

This calls for verifying each piece starting at the antennas. I would use a known good piece of RG-6 to connect each antenna, one at a time, to a known good receiver. After establishing that the antenna is good, add the next part into the system... Of course, use the shortest practical length of coax.

It would only take a bit of moisture in the wrong place to destroy the tuned combiner, matching transformer or even coax.
