tough location
 

Antenna recommendations for install within a treed area sub division due east of Lake Sammamish on the Redmond plateau, to a panasonic 4230st hd tv. Appreciate any help.

Do as the other question askers do and , Do This-> http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=4 . Is this a , house , condo , townhome , apartment , mobile home , motor home or etc.?? How many tv's are/will be connected?? Use the exact address to make the tvfool report and make the antenna height 25 feet. If a address does not show up , then go to the >>Start MAPS<< part of tvfool and move the pointer to your exact location.

Location is a house. Home has trees on the west and southern exposure. One TV (Panasonic 4230 st HD TV). TV located on 1st floor against wall with western exposure. Height set to 25'. Will location allow attic install.

Tall fir trees behind home on western/sw exposure. Northern view more open with trees further back from home

Most of towers are within 45 miles (SW/NW) from hm. Vancouver BC tower 125 miles away.

One tv (panasonic 4230st HD) located on 1st floor against window with western exposure.

If not for the large dense Douglas Firs, reception of the major networks would be easy using a simple (inexpensive) rabbit-ears style antenna. Because of the fir trees, I'd opt for an outdoor (roof or chimney mounted) Winegard HD7694P aimed west (about 245° compass).

There is also the opportunity to receive several signals from the NW and SW if you are willing to consider using a rotator or additional antenna(s). ION network, TuffTV network MeTV network and others are available in those directions.

Those big thick dense trees will reduce reception. Need to get the antenna up high. Install a HD7696P antenna aimed at about 247 degree magnetic compass on a , http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html , or if the antenna can be mounted up high with a chimney mount , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html. Do not try and hide the antenna in the trees as that will make reception worse. Mount the antenna away from the trees as much as possible. Here is the Federal Law that says Yes you can install and use a antenna up high to receive television transmissions. http://www.fcc.gov/guides/over-air-r...n-devices-rule. Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.ramelectronics.net , http://www.tigerdirect.com. Buy the ronard mounts from solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard , http://www.ronard.com. Use RG-6 coax from the antenna to the connection point at the house to the tv.

Wow, even at your far location, you can easily get Bellingham stations 80 miles away with a good antenna.

You must live on the right side of the hill there in Redmond.

The BC stations would be harder, maybe on a good day, you might be able to get those stations. I'm a little bit north of you get those stations occasionally myself.
