Reception help in New Orleans

Here is my map analysis: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...2df98f9d4a62e6

I need help receiving channels in the "green" in New Orleans. I am currently using a Antennas Direct DB2 mounted indoors behind my TV, and it doesn't seem to be doing much better than something like this http://aero-smith.net/cart/images/MFJ_1805_color.jpg which I was initially using. For the HD channels, I receive 4 and 8 and 49 fairly consistently, and sometimes 6 and 54 (but they are sometimes to often plagued with choppiness). But I never get 2 or 12 or some of the other higher channels..

My goal would be to at least receive 12 (the PBS stations), and have better reception on the network stations.

I rent, so having an indoor solution is important to me. I'm right in an urban center, and these channels are in the green, so I'm surprised at how hard it has been for me to get good reception. There aren't that many obstructions around: a few trees, and a 4 story building (old school or hospital type building) 3 blocks away to my east/SE.

Hiding antennas behind , Tv's , entertainment centers , referigerators , washers , dryers , and Etc. . sticking antennas in , closets , pantries , and Etc. are Very Bad Ideas for reception.

What floor is your apartment??

What is the top floor of the building??

What directions do the windows of your apartment face??

What directions are patios/balconies??

Do any , windows , patios , balconies , face a inner court yard , and if so what direction is that??

The groups of Tv stations are to the , east , south east , south.

For best reception , aim the DB2 antenna at about 125 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Put the antenna in a window or out on a patio/balcony that is to the south east as a first choice.

Can also put the DB2 antenna a window or out on a patio/balcony that is toward the south or east.

If the DB2 antenna is out on a patio/balcony , a way to get the coax from patio/balcony to inside the apartment is through a hole through the wall.

Here is an other way , Flat Coax , Eagle Aspen , FC-300LX , http://www.solidsignal.com.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to locate the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channel' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
