hi all
I live in clarksville, tn 35 mile from the nashville antenna source tv fool plot http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...3e47b508de05d7 I am thinking of buying a Winegard HD 9095P with a winegard ap-8700 amp. I own a channel master 2016 with a cheap rca preamp mounted on the outside of the house. I only receive channel 2,17 (at 35-45 % power) in summer and channel 2,17,30,50 in winter at 65-75 % power. we have very tall tress in clarksville. Luckly channel 5 (wtvf) is going soon to 1000kw full power license on real channel 25. i do not care about any vhf channel just want to improve my ufh Channel 2,5 (25 new),17.30,58 someone told me that the double stacker was the best on the market http://www.dennysantennaservice.com/ is this true ????? any suggestion or help would be high appreciated kurt b. :D:D:D or is their any better antenna i can use my budget is no more than $300 thanks all |

The hd slacker is Not the best on the market. There is no one antenna that is the best at every thing. . I recommend a Winegard HD7698P antenna with no preamplifier. Aimed at about 131 degree magnetic compass. The antenna will need to be above the highest point of the roof. Here is how to aim Tv antennas , http://kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

Read and understand about , REAL Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , Virtual Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=695. WNPT-DT 8 PBS is VHF high channel 8 , the HD7698P antenna is a UHF VHF high Tv antenna.

Regarding an amplifier, the strong locals would be strong enough to worry about overload. If I proved a need for amplification of some of the weaker signals, I would only consider using a high input amp such as the CPA-19, HDP-269 or 10G201. I would certainly try running with no amplifier first. The Denny Stacker has an emotional following based on anecdotal reports and reviews. Until I see credible modeling or field testing results in a form comparable to the reputable antenna manufactures, I won't recommend for or against it... The Stacker is an unknown quantity. I simply don't know what it will or wont do. @ $129 plus $25 Shipping, it's more expensive than the 7698. The Stacker claims to cover the FM band, which in your case may or may not matter, but it would increase the potential for trouble if you used amplification... strong FM signals and an amplifier will often generate interference that did not exist in the air. |
thanks
thanks for your help
I did some research on my own I think I will take your suggestion and get the hd7698 and the hdp269 amp a long cable run for some reason i see a lot of that style around town plus the channel master 2020 I think i will wait to late sept/oct to install it just to hot right now to mess with it I see a lot of houses with the antenna mounted on just a 1 inch heavy conduit pipe in the ground and a hanger on the side of the house how high do I have to have the antenna over the house?????? thanks again kurt b :D:D:D:D:D |

A premium mounting solution option would be a tripod with a 5' or 10' mast section at the roof peak. |

The HD7698P can be mounted inside for now , in a spare room or in a garage , it will still receive a lot of channels. Here are outside antenna mounts , http://ronard.com/engineered-rotor-r...ount-3324.html , http://ronard.com/ychim.html , http://ronard.com/909911.html , http://ronard.com/712.html , http://ronard.com/34424560.html , http://ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html . The tvfool radar report that is posted is the default antenna height of 10 feet and shows good reception. For better reception mount the antenna about 3 to 5 feet above the roof and reception should be fine. The reason you see a lot of these antennas is because they are the correct antenna for the reception of the Tv stations channels. I go to great lengths to recommend the correct antenna. It is Always best to clear the roof by a few feet when mounting a antenna. Here are places to buy Tv antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.starkelectronic.com , http://www.amazon.com
