Yes the metal siding of the double wide does a excellent job of blocking reception.

Install a , www.antennacraft.net , HBU11K antenna above the roof in such a manner that the roof and building are not , obstructing , impeding , blocking , reception in the directions of , North East , East , south East , South , North , North West.

Aim the HBU11K antenna at about 50 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

Use a Real and Actual Magnetic compass to aim antenna.

------------

The Tv reception is strong signal strength at your location.

A antenna system amplifier is not required.

------------

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a 3 way splitter.

For 4 Tv's connected use a 4 way splitter.

-------------

As Always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing and Blocking Reception.

Multi-Path Reflections Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice for Reliable Reception is to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

----------------------------

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select and channel scan for ~ Antenna Channels ~ ATSC Channels ~ DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~.

Channel Scan for the ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels.

DO NOT select and channel scan for cable tv channels.

Radio shack in my area 34222 sells the HBU22 and HBU33....... Are these antenna's I could consider also or should I stick with the HBU11K. Thanks

GroundUrMast 17-Mar-2014 5:57 PM

The HBU-22 is fine. The HBU-33 would also work, though it's forward beam is a bit narrow for this application.

The HBU22 is Ok for your reception situation.

Or you can also use a , ANT751 / ANT751R , Both are the same antenna.

Home Depot and Lowes may have the ANT751 / ANT751R , both are the same antenna.

Home Depot and Lowes may have the ANT751/R antenna in stock in the store , no matter what the Home Depot and Lowes web sites say.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

This is all new to me and I am learning a lot but having said that I guess it would be best if the association lets me, to put the antenna on a roof top tripod just to get it as high as possible. And does it go without saying that a ground wire is also needed?

Thanks

If I can not find the HBU11K in my local stores can someone suggest a Winegard model or other which is comparable that can be purchased at Best Buy.

Thanks

Best Buy carries the Audiovox ANT751.

Your HOA may think they can tell you not to install an antenna... But the FCC says different. The FCC OTARD rule protects your right to install and use an antenna for OTA TV reception, and specifically restricts the rights of the HOA. http://www.fcc.gov/guides/over-air-r...n-devices-rule

I'd suggest that you ground your outdoor antenna mast and the coax shield. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=901 (see post #20 for a summary)

Re. Best Buy alternate antenna choices:

I see the Antennas Direct CS2-V and the Channel Master CM-2016 advertized on the Best Buy website...

Not wanting to drag this on any longer but I do appreciate the help.

I submitted a survey to Solid Xtreme Signal yesterday and they came back with a recommendation for the following 8 bay unit.

http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=hdb8x

The unit is larger and I am not sure what the difference is in styles and or which would work better?

Comments are appreciated

The UHF gain of the typical 8-bay panel antenna is more than you need. With the possible exception of the CM-4228 I would expect the VHF performance to be inadequate.

The HBU-11, HBU-22, ANT-751 and CM2016 fit your application very well, better than an 8-bay panel UHF antenna.

Settled....... I now know what to do and what to get. Thanks for all your help
