Basement Antenna Placement
Hello, I live in a basement apartment in Oshawa, Ontario. I am on my fourth antenna, presently a RCA Multi-Directional Digital Flat as well as a GE Easy Adjust dipole & loop antenna. I have tried both with and without a signal amplifier, that came with the RCA one, without success. I have a JVC 32" that works just great with the HDMI hooked to the computer.
Some stats; my apartment faces west with a large window at ground level. I have placed the antennae in various locations around the tv. Would I have better luck connecting a longer co-ax cable and move the antenna nearer to the window? Both antennae came with about 4' of cable built onto them. According to the map I should be able to receive a number of local stations, they are in the green area. What direction should the dipoles face? Using the flat antenna, what direction should it face? I have a good compass so an accurate position should not be too hard to find. Thank you for any assistance on this. Don |
