Rural install help

Looking for setup recommendation. Got 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 only using a standard outdoor antenna mounted 20 feet up using a signal amp from Walmart. I attached a location map. Dfw is 66 miles away. I am surrounded by trees. Antenna amp and pole height help is appreciated. The 8.1 picture was fantastic. 37 percent signal strength.

Please do as the other question askers do and make and post a tvfool radar report.
Little will happen with out a tvfool radar plot report.

Use the Exact address and make the antenna height 25 feet.

How many Tv's are/will be connected??

Of the antennas pictured what antenna looks the most like the one you have.

http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

The house with what looks like a blue roof from above , that is south of the curve part of the road CO RD 122 , and west of Honey Creek Cemetery.

The signal strengths are very weak but receivable.

The Digital Tv stations/channels to the north east at about 52 degree magnetic compass direction should be receive down the channel list to at least KDFI-DT REAL Digital UHF channel 36 , virtual number (27.1) MYNetwork.

The antenna will be mounted above the roof of the house no less then 25 feet above ground and 40 feet or as close to 40 feet would be better.

The antenna is aimed at about 52 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Install a Winegard AP8275 preamp.

When the AP8275 preamp is installed do not use the little GE amp.

For one Tv connected use no splitter.

If you decide to connect more Tv's.

For 2 Tv's connected use a HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a HFS-3D , 3way splitter.

For 4 Tv's connected use a HFS-4D , 4 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.hollandelectronics.com or http://www.solidsignal.com.

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are some places to buy , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions in the direction of reception.

It is best to instatall the antenna at a location that has the least amount or no amount of obstructions in the reception path of the antenna.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for The Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tvsetup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antanna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Here is a free standing no guy wires , light weight weight aluminum , lay over tower , do antenna instal and adjustments standing on the ground.

so you think the antenna is fine? I see no recomendation to replace.

teleview 5-Sep-2012 5:56 PM

Yes I think the antenna you have will work Ok.

If a more powerful antenna is required then use a Winegard HD7698P.

Ground Ur Mast says he deleted off topic content , yet nothing was deleted , not even one letter of the alphabet.

finally got the antenna on a 40 foot pole with the amp from solidsignal installed. pointed at 52 degrees as instructed. getting 29 channels total, 5,8,11,21 all in 1920 x 1080. 4 is coming in at 720. Impressed considering the distance from towers plus the location is in a low area. Appreciate your assistance!!!

teleview 14-Nov-2012 6:53 AM

Yes very impressive , with all those Tv stations 80 some miles away.

Yes KDWF REAL Digital UHF channel 35 , virtual number (4.1) FOX.

Yes FOX does transmit a high definition signal of 720P.

The picture clarity definitions are ,

standard definition 480i

standard definition 480P

High definition 720P

High definition 1080i

High definition 1080P

You can research the signal definitions ( picture clarity , how many lines make the picture ) on the internet.
