Antenna Suggestions too much gain?

Hi,
I installed a Winegard HD7696P and I am having trouble. I only get channels 7ABC, 12NBC, 36IND and 44FOX. Should be getting many more. Also, what's really strange is 44Fox only comes in if the antenna is very low and almost on the roof. I did a test with an identical antenna that belongs to my mother and is 3 years old and it worked great. Could I be getting too much gain from this antenna? Any alternate antenna suggestions? Here is my data http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...4bba5b62fea817

Thanks

First things first, double check the instructions...

I did not spend a great deal of time looking for the 7696 documentation (it was not in plain view on the Winegard site). Still, the phasing lines need to be assembled correctly. If they touch the boom or one another, expect very poor results.

The balun box also deserves close examination. Any possibility of damage due to over tightening the coax connector?

If everything is assembled correctly, location, location, location... Dead spots happen, move the antenna.

(No, I don't think that antenna has excessive gain in your situation.)
