Heavy Foliage Antenna
I've been using OTA TV since October and am trying to boost my reception. Now that the leaves are on the trees, my reception has greatly decreased. My house is surrounded by trees and there is no way to get above them. I would also like to pull in PBS (8.1) which was intermittent before the leaves but has not been accessible since spring. I am considering the ClearStream 2V but am not sure if it will pull in UHF WTVF (channel 5). It actually comes in as WTVFSTA (5.1) but I don't see that on the analysis report.
I am currently using an RCA ANT751 with the RG-6 cable that was installed with my DIRECTV and a single splitter but we rarely use the 2nd TV. My Signal Analysis link: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...82308730f16d6e Any recommendations for an antenna would be greatly appreciated. |
Sorry, there is no magic antenna that will see through trees.

scroll down to Trees and UHF Can you aim between them or below them from any location on your property? WTVF is not a UHF channel, it is a VHF-Low channel on real channel 5, which requires a BIG antenna. It is the real channel number, not the virtual channel number, that determines the proper antenna. VHF-Low, real channels 2-6 VHF-High, real channels, 7-13 UHF, real channels 14-51 If you take the splitter out, it will make your signals a little stronger, but it might not make any difference. |
WTVF is UHF 25 and lo-V 5. The channel 5 signal is a translator now. One of the low-V screw-ups from the 2009 transition.
For my view on trees, see http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=15257 |

Had the exact same problem with an antenna like yours. Had to get a bigger antenna.
