Tv Antennas and Reception

dcp12345678 has his or her Own question asking site , yet came here. This is a answer to the question that dcp12345678 ask here on , Old Stuffs question asking site . The question does not have any thing to do with the Old Stuff question. Not all antennas by a manufacture are the best at every thing. Antennas by different manufactures can be good for some reception situations and some not. The Antennacraft U4000 will receive in 2 directions , the same type and kind of winegard antenna will not.

That makes sense, thanks for the clarification.

Back in Business

A HUGE thank you to "No static at all!" I picked up a Winegard HDP-269 pre-amp for a good price at Buy.com, got some new RG-6u cable, and today installed the Winegard 7082. I set the antenna at 55 degrees and was immediately able to get all the channels I was interested in. I had the strongest signal I have ever received on Channel 50/CW. Channel 22/MPT signal was only at 37 percent, but that was without moving the antenna. So I am a happy camper! :)

Glad to hear it is working well. Just curious if you seeing anything from Baltimore? WBAL- 11 was the only channel I really had much success with the 7082 in that area.

Also, make sure the system is well grounded. The HDP-269 is sensitive to static build-up & nearby lightning strikes.

Baltimore

Channel 11 is the only Baltimore station I can get, even though 2, 13, 45 and 54 have the same azimuth and are the same distance away. I get about 35-40 signal strength on Channel 11, with intermittent pixelization.

I have groundwires on the antenna mast and on the coax just before it goes into the house.
