Then I have the second mast going threw the bearing and into the rotor. this mast is about 6 ft and at the top of it is the DB8e.

Bold type added that implies same location.

Semantics; two masts, one location.

The masts overlap.

Got it.

Maybe something like this:

I'm missing something here, I just can't picture that.

I see, but how does that work with the vhf antenna mounted on top of the short mast? I like the idea of the bearing, that makes a lot of sense for longevity and strength of the rotating mast.

That picture is what I have, I just have the lower mast up enough to put the VHF antenna.. I played with it today and I got 15 different stations and almost all of them have 2 or more channels.. The lowest station I got on the list was 19

Does the vhf antenna interfere with the other mast at all? It sounds like the mast would have to go through part of the vhf antenna

It's funny now everywhere I go I'm checking out rooftops and I'm seeing a bunch of antennas

drmenard 9-Mar-2016 11:09 PM

I does not interfere at all , but the rotor mast is right next to it..

What are you using for a bearing?

drmenard 10-Mar-2016 12:15 AM

It is a channel master, I got it at the time I bought the rotor.

tazz63 10-Mar-2016 12:23 AM

I don't think they make that bearing anymore

I think you are correct.
