Is this an antenna problem?

Hi,

I recently purchased an indoor antenna for my tv (RCA Ant111) to see if I could pick up any OTA signals for the local channels. I connected the antenna, switched the source on my tv to antenna, and performed a scan with my TV (P46ST30). The tv picked up 16 digital channels, all corresponding to my tvfool map analysis.

The tv labels all the channels automatically, like KMAX-DT, KCRA-DT, KTXL-DT, etc. However, when I try to view these channels, the channels stay blacked out. I see the tiny box showing the channel (like 3-1, KCRA-DT), but nothing shows on the tv but a black screen. I check the signal strength of the channels, and they are mostly within a range of 60-80% signal strength according to my tv.

Since the signal strength isn't too bad, I'm not sure what the problem is. Is the problem my antenna, or is it my tv?

Thanks!!

Tv Reception.

V-Chip is what popped in to my mind.

V-Chip channel blocking.

Channels can be locked out using the V-Chip.

Look in the Tv menu.
