Existing outdoor antenna - help

I already have an external antenna installed (by prev. owner) - now am using it to receive over the air signals - i see that KTVU and few other signals are not received during the day time - at nights it is ok. This antenna is an old school antenna mounted on a single story house - all around in the neighborhood, it is all single story houses.

Also i don't receive KRON 4.

I live in 95121 zip code. Do i need an amplifier ?

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
