Help with antenna selection

Good day everyone!

I'm a noob here. I'm contemplating OTA for my local channels. TV fool analysis report for my location is - http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...2df9c1efc10318.

Can someone please suggest what is the antenna(s) i should get? Any need for preamp/amp? I own a Panasonic plasma tv with built-in TV tuner.

Thanks a lot.

An RCA ANT-751 would do well for reception of your local signals.

A Winegard HD7698P equipped with a rotator and Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp would add US signals.

GroundUrMast and teleview - thanks so much for the details. teleview, it's too much information for me, but I'm going to spend some time to digest it well and implement. I'll post back my results once I've completed the setup.

Meanwhile, this morning a friend of mine who is moving to a place where he can't use his antenna said I'm free to take his Channel Master 4228HD (8 bay - I think he said that). Would that be an alternative? After you pouring much information, hope this question is not offensive :-)

A free antenna always move to the top of the list, IMO! It'll be bigger than the 751, but if that's not an issue, might be worth a test. I think the VHF could be sketchy, but I'll let the smart guys chime in on that to be certain.

The following is a Teleview recommendation for broadcast Tv reception.

I presented the information in easy step by step forum.

I avoid technical jibber jabber , and do my best to provide information in straight forward easy to understand laymans terms.

You can ask any questions you like.

I recommend install the ANT751 antenna for the reception of the Canada Digital Tv stations , First.

With successful completion of the ANT751 antenna install and reception the Canada Digital Tv stations you will have confidence to do the antenna instal for reception of the American Tv stations at a latter date if you choose to.

I agree, a free antenna is hard to pass up. The 4228 is not ideal if you had to spend hard earned cash, but mounted to face 80° (compass) you may well find it satisfies your needs. The signal from CFTO on real channel 9 is strong enough that I would be surprised if you had trouble receiving it reliably.

Thank you all.

I decided to go with one that is recommended, instead of free CM4228HD. I checked with saveandreplay - they do not carry RCA ANT 751, instead, when asked, they suggested Channel Master 2016 - http://overtheair.saveandreplay.com/...aster_2016.asp.

Would this one be good?

Thanks,
