Antenna type in Southern Illinois

Like a growing number of people I have finally ditched the dish. I have searched for an outdoor antenna and am more confused than ever. I would like to know what antenna would work without a rotator to receive most of the stations. Here is my signal analysis http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b942c904b21c2

Which direction would I point the antenna and can I use the existing dish cabling?

Thanks for your time and knowledge, Terry

A Simple reception situation.

Above the Peak of the Roof in such a manner that reception is not , obstructed , impeded , blocked , by the roof and building in the directions of , North West , North , North East , East , South East.

Install a , Antennas Direct , DB8e antenna.

Aim 1 panel at about 60 degree magnetic compass direction.

Aim the other panel at about 312 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antennas.

---------

The Signal strengths are Strong , a antenna system amplifier will not be required.

---------

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.

---------

Here are some places to buy antennas and ect. .

http://www.amazon.com

---------

Here are some above the roof antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html.
Use the , ronard(911) , 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.
Measure around the chimney and use a , ronard(2212) , ronard(2218) , ronard(2224) .

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at , http://www.ronard.com , or , http://www.amazon.com.

--------------------

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and building.

Some and not all Negative Effects are,

Absorbing and Blocking Tv Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice for Reliable Reception is to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

---------------------

In the Tv Setup Menu.

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels ~ Antenna Channels ~ ATSC Channels ~ DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

---------------------

Yes the satellite system coaxes can be used for the antenna system , the satellite system connection hardware such as and not limited to , multiplexers , multi-switches , couplers , splitters , amplifiers , power injectors , power supplies and etc. must be disconnected and removed.
