I have been using rabbit ears to get the American channels and I do quite well with them. But I would now like to upgrade and get as many Toronto stations as possible. My plan is to have 3 TVs hooked up and no intention of using multiple antennas. The kids can use rabbit ears if need be.
My house is a typical suburban backsplit.
I would also like to know to what degree the quality of coax cable will affect my final results. Is it worth buying high-end cable?

Here is a 1 antenna solution. Install a Channel Master 4228HD antenna aimed at about 335 degree magnetic compass for the Canada digital tv stations. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Use a Channel Master CM3414 distribution amplifier for the tv hookups. The American digital tv stations are Very Strong and will be received through the back side of the CM4228HD antenna. The 4228HD antenna is mounted above the roof. http://www.saveandreplay.com
