Recommendation for antenna and rotor

I would like a recommendation for an antenna and rotor. Antenna will be 30ft above ground or if needed I have a 50 foot tower almost up (only at 30ft at present). I have many trees around my location so I am thinking the higher the better.

Thank You

The Winegard HD 7080P antenna with no amplifier should receive most of the stations on your report. It is Low VHF for your 4 and 5. High VHF for your 12 and 13, and Uhf for the rest. You should not use an amplifier. For your rotor I recomend the Aspen Eagel Roto 100. With this rotor you can use the signal coax to tun the rotor. It has a 360 degree read out, so you can aim the antenna to magnetic North when installing. This will allow you to locate the channels by turning to the degree number that matches your report.

Run the rotor from end to end before installing. Use solid copper RG6 coax. If hooking up multipul sets, split after your coax exits the control box, or use a splitter that has a DC pass port to feed the control box.

Good luck!

Tv Antennas and Tv Reception

I am doing research , like I always do , Do not jump on the rotor just yet .
Example : No requirement to receive W33AK / W39AR , http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?call=W33AK , http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?call=W39AR , repeaters transmitting a analog signal because the Main Digital transmitter is to the south , WYCN , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYCN-LP .
I will return with a evaluation showing ALL the stations can be received to the , south , west and north , [Without a rotor] in the Green and Yellow reception zones.

You do have most of your channels to your South. If you have no need to receive stations from the other directions, a rotor would not be needed. However I would recommend that you go to the Winegard 8200 antenna. That is a more powerfull all channel antenna and may do better around the trees. Without the ability to tweek the antenna you may need the extra gain of the larger antenna. If you do need the other directions, I would stay with the 7080P and the rotor, not multipul antennas, coax, A/B switches ect.

If a ANT751 antenna can be high enough to clear the trees so the trees will not be reducing reception. This recommendation is based on Current and Pending Applications Included for reception of ALL the Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels in the Green and Yellow reception zones of the tvfool radar report. Aim a ANT751 antenna mounted above the roof or on a tower at about 190 degree magnetic compass. No rotor is required . Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Here are places to buy antennas and etc. . http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.

The ANT751 will receive ALL the Tv stations to the , South , south west , west , north west , north , north east , in the Green and Yellow reception zones.

For 1 Tv connected , no amplifier is required.

For 2 Tv's connected use a Channel Master CM3412 distribution amplifier.

For 3 or 4 Tv's connected use a CM3414 distribution amplifier. http://www.channelmasterstore.com.
Any questions or comments??

The ANT751 is a directional antenna. Look at the specifications. You have been told that it WILL receive channels from all directions. Be advised before mounting it 50 feet up a tower that it MAY NOT.

Thank you. I will only be using on one TV but the cable length will be long. The ANT751 does not really show the specs? Will it really perform as well as the 7080P?

Thank you for your help. I will read up on both the 7080P and the ANT751.

Will be Ok to install http://www.channelmasterstore.com/TV..._p/cm-7778.htm. CM7778 . Preamplifier to give the tv transmissions a little extra push through the coax.

Thanks, I was thinking of a preamp if I needed to add one. I like the size of the ANT751, it is very small. I may just give it a try and see what happens.

I provided real facts and information that a HD7080P or HD8200P All channel antennas are not required.

There is no requirement to receive channels 2 thru 6 with a all channel antenna at your location.

And the receivable stations channels are not so weak as to require a very large antenna.

I do a lot of research before I recommend a antenna and etc. . The receivable stations channels are moderate signal strength at your location. The ANT751 or ANT751R antenna receives well to the , front , back and angles at the antenna. The gain of the ANT751 is about 5 dB.
I have stated my recommendation and what I believe will work with no rotor at your location.

Thanks again for your help. I cannot find the difference between the 751 and 751R. Can you tell me what the diffference is..thanks again

At your friends location install a Winegard HD7696P antenna above the roof aimed at about 120 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some roof top antenna mounts. http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.
