Antenna recommendation for Marinette

I have been using an old (30 year old) antenna (fixed) mounted to the gable. (No amplifier) about 20 ft up. I get 4 or 5 channels most of the time. I use a digital conerter tuner (gov voucher, from Walmart). What is recommended to improve reception for more channels and better stability. (at moderate cost ie, good value)

The location is 5 miles north of Marinette WI on hwy 180. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1dda4aa6dc7579

My tuner reads the channel numbers as the second number in the signal anaylsis chart. What is the difference between the 2 numbers?

The Tv fool radar plot and channel list is required for the best and actual help.

Without the tvfool radar report and channel list , the help is guess ti mations.

Use the Exact address to make the tvfool radar report plot.

Make the antenna height 25 feet above ground. Or higher if the antenna is higher then 25 feet above ground.

How many Tv's Are/Will be connected??

Marinette Antenna

I specified my complete official street address for the analysis. I have lived there since 1950, The TVFool program evidently does not recognize it as such. There is nothing I can do about that. It is 5 miles NNW of Marinette.

Above the roof of the house in such a manner that reception is not blocked by the roof and house in the direction of , south west , at about 198 degree magnetic compass direction ->WACY-DT REAL UHF Digital channel 27 , virtual number (32.1) MyNetwork.

The Digital Tv reception is medium signal strength to weak signal strength at your location , it is best to install a big antenna so as to receive more signal.

Aim a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Winegard AP2870 preamp at about 198 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.solidsignal.com , or , http://www.hollandelectronics.com.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , do a good job of , absorbing , multi-path/reflecting , blocking , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best practice to install the HD7698P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select the , 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels'.

Digital Broadcast Tv Tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

Do double rescan , http://www.dtv.gov/rescan.html.

RonPro, thanks for your patience, address look-up has been experiencing intermittent errors. I've converted your address into a TV Fool reception report.

With the correct antenna, installed free from obstructions such as trees or nearby buildings, you should be able to receive the major networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC & PBS) reliably. MyN should be within reach also.

I would suggest using a Winegard HD7698P pointed at about 200°. An Antennas Direct PA-18 preamp would be a good choice if you are going to have more than 20' of coax or will split to multiple TVs.
