Biddeford Maine OTA Reception

Ok so I moved to New England just about one year ago. I lived in Manchester, NH for a while and then I recently just moved to Maine.

I've used OTA for a while when I was living in Milwaukee, WI and I never had any problems with the tv or antenna. The antenna was a basic GE antenna that stayed inside and was bought from Target for $20.

But then I moved to Manchester, which is not rural in any way, and I could barely pick up anything. I got CBS, MeTV, and some telemundo.

I made the move to Maine and the TV wasn't able to pick up a single station, even though Biddeford is not rural either. So I went out and bought a new antenna. It's a GE amplified indoor antenna and was the more expensive version in the store at Target today. I'm not sure what specs are relevant or where they're written down but I can look if necessary.

This is the reception report.

Why can't I pick anything up? Honestly, all I really want is NBC so I watch some of the Olympics and hockey when the season starts back up again.

Thanks-

DTV/cell phone reception advise and products

Your reception is a little too weak for good results with an indoor antenna.

I recommend you try a Terk HDTVo. You can mount this antenna on your roof or and surface such as a deck post, as long as it faces the North. Aim due South and you will receive the NBC station and more. Another slightly larger antenna to look at is the RCA ANT 751. A better choice if you have the space to mount it, also pointed North.

Tv Reception.

Your Tv stations/channels are to the , west , north west , north , north east .

Install a ANT751 above the roof , with a Winegard AP8700 preamp.

Aim the antenna at about 20 degree magnetic compass.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some but not all above the roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
