Interference and multipath - reflected Tv transmissions arriving at the antenna are the main causes of poor signal quality.

To have a look see at what is happening at at your location and what can be done to improve reception.

Please make a tvfool radar plot report.

Make the antenna height 25 feet.

Use the Exact address to make the report.

Is this a , house , town home , condo , apartment , mobile home , motor home , or etc.??

What directions do the windows face??

What directions do patios / balconies face??

Here's my tv fool report: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1ddafa0ff7bb48.
House faces north south, windows on north and south sides, one window on east side, it is a one story ranch, deck off the back of house.(North). I am in a housing development, with relatively good distances between houses, also up on a hill, dont know if that helps or hurts me.

The fmfool part of the tvfool web site shows that there are Strong Signal Strength FM radio transmitters , close and all around your location.

FM radio transmitters can generate interference to Tv channels and Strong Signal Strength can overload Tv tuners.

And can overload antenna System amplifiers.

At Radio Shack , buy a FM Trap , model number 9FT293C-1 , catalog #15-024 that connects in the coax line before any splitters. And can also install a second one before the connection to the Tv.

(Disclaimer - buy recommending the FM trap at radio shack - I am Not giving my pre approval to buy other antenna related hardware from radio shack , 99.9% of the stuff at radio shack I Do Not recommend.)

MCM Electronics also has a FM trap , http://mcmelectronics.com.

What is the make and model number of your Tv antenna??

Is there a separate amplifier?? What make and model number??

How many Tv's are connected??

As a Test of reception , remove all parts of a Separate amplifier , remove the power supply , remove the power injector , remove the amplifier unit.

And install the FM traps.

I recommend a ANT751 antenna with - No preamplifier - installed above the roof in such a manner that the roof and house do not block reception in the directions of , north west , west , south west , south , south east , east.

The ANT751 has some forward direction antenna gain and also receives at front angles , back and back angles to the antenna.

Directional type antennas receive the least amount of signal on the sides of the antenna.

Aim the ANT751 antenna at about 135 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

As always , a antenna can be turned some to the right or left to find a aim direction with the best reception.

Most Digital Tv's have a signal strength meter and some Digital Tv have a signal quality meter.

The ANT751 comes with a , J type antenna mount.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.
_______

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.
______

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , reducing , blocking , Digital Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the ANT751 antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , often named the '
Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv setup menu and Select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna Channels'.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

__________

Digital tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with a simple channel scan.

Do a Double Channel Scan.

http://www.dtv.gov/rescan.html.
_____

Also New Digital Broadcast Tv Channels can begin transmitting at any time without prior notice.
