Is this a , house , town home , condo , apartment , mobile home , motor home , or etc.??

What directions do , windows , patios/balconies , face??

What floor??

What is the top floor??

How many Tv's are/will be connected??

The tvfool radar report and channel list is not showing any antenna height above ground.

Do not delete the tvfool radar report and channel list and make a second tvfool report and channel list with the Tv antenna height 25 feet above ground.

I'm sorry, was in a rush... Anyways, its a Raised Ranch, at this time only 2 TV's will be connected and it'll probably have to be an outdoor antenna. It's in the country, so not too close to anything. Here is the other report, http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1dda62ce41990e 25 feet above ground.

Here is a 1 antenna shot at receiving the Canada Digital Tv stations/channels that are weak signal strength and the Buffalo USA Digital Tv stations/channels that are strong signal strength.

If 1 antenna does not do it then will be required to use 2 antennas to receive both the Canada and USA Digital Tv stations/channels.

For Canada and USA reception with 1 antenna install a Winegard HD7696P antenna aimed at about 305 degree magnetic compass direction for Canada Digital Tv stations/channels.

And the strong USA Digital Tv stations/channels should be received at front angles and back angles to the HD7696P antenna.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

As always , the starting aim direction of a antenna is the --> starting aim direction of a antenna.

The aim direction can be adjusted for best reception.

Most Digital Tv's have a signal strength meter and some Digital Tv's also have a signal quality meter.

Here are some Above the Roof antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , if using the tripod antenna mount use the 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , if using the eave antenna mount use the #4560.

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.

http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.

______________

Install a Winegard HDP-269 preamp.

______________

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.solidsignal.com , or , http://www.hollandelectronics.com.

_______________________

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting/multipath , absorbing , blocking , Digital Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best install the HD7696P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

At your location that is , north west , west , south west , south , south east.
_______

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the , OTA= Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna Channels'.

Thanks for the great info. Do you think I could eliminate the preamp if I use the HD7697 instead? How necessary would the preamp be anyways?

I recommended the HD7696P antenna because it is less directive. And as such receives better at front angles and back angles and back of the antenna.

However.

Yes you can try the HD7697P antenna.

I recommended the Winegard HDP-269 preamp because of the Weak signal strengths and distances to the Canada Tv stations.

However.

Yes you can try reception without the preamp.
