Antenna advice

It is a bungalow single home front facing south with trees approx sixty feet away. I am quite secluded and sit at the top plateau of a hill.

Many Canada Digital Tv Channels will be received.

Above the roof install a Winegard HD7696P antenna aimed at about 278 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use no preamplifier.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

Some above the roof antenna mounts are , tripod antenna mount , eave antenna mount , chimney antenna mount.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.saveandreplay.com , http://www.trentondistributors.com , http://www.amazon.ca , http://www.canadapost.ca/shopper , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.

WCFE UHF channel 38 PBS is weak signal strength at your location and will be received at a back angle to the HD7696P antenna , this will make reception weaker.

I think WCFE will be received.

If not then I recommend a second antenna a Antennas Direct DB4e antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp aimed at about 160 degree magnetic compass direction.

For reception of , WCFE PBS , WPNI PBS , and possibly WNYF-LD UHF channel 18.
______________________________

The 2 Separate antenna systems will not be connected together on to 1 coax.

The 2 Separate antenna system will have separate coax all the way to the location of the Tv.

At the location of the Tv the 2 Separate coaxes will be connected to a Remote control A/B coax antenna switch and the output of the A/B antenna switch is connected to the Tv.

saveandreplay has the Remote Control A/B antenna switch.

A/B antenna switching is Channel Surfing Friendly , press the button on the hand held remote control , change antennas and keep on channel surfing.

Using a Tv antenna rotator to turn 1 antenna Is Not channel surfing friendly.
Must wait for antenna to rotate and not every one will agree with the direction the antenna aimed.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own house.

It is best to install antennas at a location that has little to no obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own house.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
______________________________________

If the 2 Separate antenna system is installed , then change the aim of the HD7696P antenna to about 250 degree magnetic compass direction for better reception of the group of Tv stations at 230 degree magnetic compass direction.

The 250 degree is a in between aim direction for the groups of Tv stations to the , west , south west.
