New Clearstream Max

So it looks like the Clearstream Eclipse has been updated to the new Clearstream Max. I've been looking at these antennas and had a question I never got around to asking.

They say the antennas are ideal for areas challenged with receiving signals through heavy foliage. Now I know foliage (leaves) will scatter the signal, so are these antennas just better at isolating the scatter signals? I know no antenna can get good reception through heavy foliage.

Here is a link to the new antenna.

The ClearStream MAX series are the next generation of the C1V, C2V, and the C4V.

Looks similar to the C2V, but without the reflector. My guess is that the UHF gain would be a bit less and the VHF gain the same. Useful for many applications.

Reflectors will be available as an add-on later this summer.

So I guess it's what I thought. Marketing hype. Any antenna still needs line-of-sight for the best reception. I guess until an antenna incorporates a laser beam to cut a hole through the leaves I'll just get my antenna higher.
