Question Just Missing One Station

Here are my location details:

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...40338b75feab0d

We get every channel we need, except for ABC 33/40. I noticed that 33 and 40 are not near the other channels on the graph, but I honestly don't know how to read that graph. Is it possible to buy an antenna that would allow me to access ABC?

We are currently using a cheep Radio Shack set of bunny ears (not amplified) and a Digital Stream converter into and old Apex CRT tv.

Try placing your existing antenna in a window that faces East-borth-east and rescan to see if you can get that station (you'll loose others, but this is an experiment).

If you can now get this station, and you must stay indoors with an antenna, you can pick up an inexpensive set of rabbit ears, adjust them to around 29-30" tip to tip, and combine their cable to your existing antenna cable with channel 9 Jointenna available on closeout at http://www.channelmasterstore.com/Ch..._p/cm-0579.htm

If you cannot get that channel with the rabbit ears, you'll likely need a larger channel 7-13 antenna, either attic or outdoors mounted, combined into your existing signal cable using the same Jointenna.

An easy reception situation. Install this , simple , dependable , tv antenna and receive the tv stations to the west , north west , north , north east and east. http://www.channelmasterstore.com , CM3000A. Above the roof , here are some roof mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html. Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.channelmasterstore.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com. The Nay-sayers will be along shortly , with a kernal of doubt.

I would never call an omni-directional antenna "dependable". As the expression goes, "An omni-directional antenna receives equally poorly from all directions" because it has zero resistance to that bane of digital reception, multi-path.

That said, an omni is a viable antenna to attempt as long as it is approached with realistic expectations. If it works in your particular situation - "Mazel tov!". If it doesn't, then alternatives will need to explored.

I agree. I regret the one occasion that I did recommend one.

Televideo/John C/who ever you call yourself this month...

It's not a matter of being such, it's a matter of knowing what works best and, if what works best is not the easiest or most practical in the eyes of the customer, being able to offer informed alternatives along with the requisite cautions about what can go right or wrong.

This forum isn't about you, your apparent self-pity or insecurities, your persecution complex, or your opinions, it's about fulfilling the needs of the visitors. Please keep that at the front of the discussions.

Gee, now if only that would come from the site's moderators...

You are correct it is not about me , It is about the question askers. I am offering alternatives that can work , knowing they will be shot at no matter what I offer. Are you offering any alternatives?? Or just taking shots.

As you say , is not the easiest or most pratical in the eyes of the customer. You recommend what is not the easiest or most practical , do not tell me to do it and then you come out swinging.
