Requesting help with attic antenna setup

Hello,

I'm looking for a setup to be placed in an attic/crawlspace. The roof is free from obstruction and we are on a hill. The plan is to run cable 45 feet total to the basement to a 1:2 splitter and then 2-20ft runs to HDTVs. I am looking for reccomendations on antennas and any amplifiers needed.

Looking to get ABC/NBC/FOX/CBS, PBS would be a bonus. Looking for UHF/VHF.

Just looking in general from antennas direct... the DB4e or DB8 and a VHF retrofit but I am open to suggestions.

I currently have a small walmart antenna that sits on top of an end table. We currently receive 8 and 43.

DB4e plus VHF-1 should work fine for your major networks. If you want PBS, you'll need to come out of the attic, get the antenna up into clear space, and add an overload-resistant preamp.

Unfortunately, it has to stay in the attic. Do you think I will need any type of signal amplifier for that length of cable runs? Or do you think it is a wait and see type approach?

The rest of your stations are of moderate strength. I'd suggest a "wait and see" approach for the amp.

I too vote an the wait and see approach. I put one in from the get go and found out I did better without it.
