Thanks for fixing the link to your TVFR. How many TVs are you trying to serve?
At first glance, intuition may tell you that what you're doing is simple and easy. At VHF and UHF frequencies, successful combining of two antennas is (as you have discovered) far more complex than many expect.
The simple explanation is that combining waves requires that the two sources be in sync (phase) with each other or they will work against each other, canceling one another.
Often, multiple antennas need to be cabled separately to an A/B switch that can be easily controlled from the location of the TV.
