Good reception on weak channels;Bad reception on stronger?

I need help figuring out this problem. Like the title says, I have terrible reception on channels that should be very and good(fine, okay) reception on weaker channels. Here is the TV Fool Analysis

I have pixelation and loss of signal on KATU Ch43 (2.1) and KOIN Ch40 (6.1) but KPDX and even KUNP look amazing. What gives? KATU and KOIN are just as bad as KWVT which is according to the chart a lot weaker!

I have a Winegard 1080 antenna mounted on top of fence post about 10ft in the air. Not the best setup from what I understand but that the best spot to mount the antenna at the moment.

The 1080 would likely do better if not for the 2-edge path common to most of the signals.

If possible raise the antenna. Avoid forcing the antenna to 'look' at the side of a building or trees.

If I faced this situation, I would use a more directional antenna. You may be dealing with multipath interference due to the fact the signal has to bend over terrain. Multipath rarely affects two frequencies the same way, making it no surprise you have trouble with some signals and not others. The 1080 is not going to do well rejecting signal from the sides, which makes it a poor choice if you have multipath present.

My choice would be a Winegard HD7694P... mounted as high as practicality allows. Starting aim point of about 195° compass.

Thanks for the advice. You know the weird thing is that some of KATU AND KOIN were completely okay a few weeks back,now they are consistently bad. I don't know what happened. Also some intermittent channels like KWVT are watchable with a solid signal, some other times are completely cutting in and out. Especially when it's sunny.

Do you have any other smaller antenna suggestions? I'm pretty much surrounded by trees and that spot by the fence is the best/only spot. I can only raise the antenna about 10ft up too because of the trees. Maybe two antennas? Some channels I can pickup without an antenna.

The RCA ANT751 Will work better than the 1080. Small but somewhat directional.

Install a Winegard HD7082P antenna above the fence post aimed at about 180 degree magnetic compass.

The Tv/s Must scan for the broadcast Tv channels sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT scan for cable tv channels.

You know the weird thing is that some of KATU AND KOIN were completely okay a few weeks back,now they are consistently bad.

As the foliage finishes filling in for the season, this is not a surprise. The tress absorb more RF when they have leafs on. Signals coming over the ridge now have more foliage to pass through. The cure is going to be found in increased mounting height and/or antenna gain/directivity.

On a separate note; If the HD7694P is too big, the HD7082P is going to be even less appropriate. The signal on real CH-5 is a duplicate of the KRCW CH-33 signal and per Wikipedia, KOXO CH-6 is "Licensed and Silent" since having switched to digital operation on real CH-44. As a result, I see no point in considering an all channel antenna in this particular situation.

A Tv station can begin transmitting on a channel 2 thru 6 at any time.

Some Tv stations are transmitting on 2 channels , one can be UHF band channels 14 thru 51 and one can be VHF low band channels 2 thru 6.
