Need Antenna Help

We got rid of cable and satellite last year in favor of an HD antenna. We have had decent luck but really need a better antenna. Currently we have a ClearStream C4 with a VHF adapter on it. OK until anything happens at all (weather, airplane, etc.) - and I struggle with UHF channels.

Soooo - Given my address below. What antenna is suggested?

22 Caldwell Rd, Hewitt NJ 07421

Antenna recommendations and more.

The Digital Tv stations/channels are Very Weak Signal Strength at your reception location.

Recommend install a Big antenna for the best reception at your location.

Recommend install Above the Peak of the Roof a Winegard HD7084P All channel antenna aimed at about 156 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some Strong and Sturdy antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html. Install the 5 foot tripod antenna mount. ronard (911)

http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html. Install the #4560 eave antenna mount. ronard (4560)

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html. Measure around the chimney for strap length. ronard (2212) , ronard (2218) , ronard (2224)

http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing.

ronard (911)

ronard (4560)

ronard (2212) , ronard (2218) , ronard (2224)

in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

http://www.winegarddirect.com.

________________

Install a Winegard HDP-269 preamp.

________________

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.solidsignal.com , or , http://www.hollandelectronics.com.

________________

To keep weather/water out of outside connections and coax use coax that has the Compression type connectors on the ends of the coax , not old crimp type connectors.

To make double sure that weather/water does not get into outside connections , wrap with http://www.coaxseal.com.

Do not use , rubber weather boots , the rubber weather boots take in water and hold the water inside the boot , this makes bad connections.

________________

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a negative effect on Broadcast Tv reception with a Tv antenna and so do building including your own roof and house and other obstructions.

The Best Practice is to install the HD7084P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

________________

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Scan for channels.
