antenna, rotor & amplifier recommendations

I have no idea what I am doing so I just researched online the best antenna and amplifier. TV fool is a wonderful site to get information. According to the info on this site I have a great reception area. Will I need a rotor to turn the antenna? Are the products I've ordered good quality? My neighbor has an antenna on the ground, only about 2 feet tall and is getting good reception. I got a 40 inch antenna mount. Do I need the amp? Any and all advice is appreciated. I am a female overzealous confidence but no clue.

Tv antenna rotators Are Not channel surfing friendly , must wait for antenna to rotate and their Will Be Domestic Situations about the direction the antenna is aimed.

The CM4228HD is a good selection for the antenna.

Your location has , Strong Signal Strength Tv stations , that will be received through the back of the CM4228HD antenna , WTBL-CD , WUNE-TV , W20DD-D , W42Dr-D.

Many , many , many , many , Digital Broadcast Tv stations channels will be received with the CM4228HD antenna aimed in one direction , aim the CM4228HD at about 125 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Also looking at the , Digital Pending Applications Included tvfool radar map and channel list I see some Strong Signal Strength Tv stations that are less then 7 miles away.

I recommend do not use the AP8700 preamp , My concern is the strong signals will overload the AP8700 preamp and be the cause of bad reception or no reception of some channels.

I recommend use a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp , the CPA-19 is made to resist overloading from strong signals.

Here are some places to buy reception equipment , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.
_______

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.solidsignal.com or http://www.hollandelectronics.com.
_____________

The 40 " J mount is a good selection for the antenna mount.

May I also suggest a.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , If installing the tripod antenna mount use the 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html. If using the eave antenna mount use the #4560.

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.

http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , reducing , blocking , Digital Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the CM4228HD antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

Install the antenna Up High.

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna Channels'.

I got the pre-amp CA 19 that was recommended on this forum. Is pixeling (looks like broken puzzle pieces on the screen) something to be expected when its windy?

do I need to secure the coax cable leading up the the antenna on the brick wall?

It is really irritating to try to watch the news and broken sound and picture while watching.

i plan to get a higher antenna mount as mine is below the roof on side of the house. I'm happy with the amount of channels I can get.

Install the antenna , Up High.

Install the antenna Above The Peak Of The Roof in such a manner that the roof and house are not blocking reception.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , multipath/reflecting , absorbing , blocking , Digital Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind including your own roof and house.

Moving trees in the wind causes , Moving , multipath/reflections.

The computer of the Digital Broadcast Tv Tuner can correct a certain amount of moving and stationary multipath and then at some point , ( to much) , the computer can not correct the moving and stationary multipath the picture will break up into blocks and/or the screen goes blank.

Also traffic and airoplanes cause moving multipath/reflection reception.

It is best to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.
